In 2023 AFTD partnered with Combat Stress for Veterans' Mental Health, raising an amazing £1568 for this worthwhile charity.

Combat Stress is the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health. For over a century, they’ve helped former servicemen and women with mental health problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression. Today they provide specialist treatment and support for veterans from every service and conflict, focusing on those with complex mental health issues.

Having started on September 1st, 2021 as a fun experiment in raising awareness for the armed forces within local communities between Rob and a few veteran friends, the 2022 campaign recognised the concept's potential to be a much farther-reaching event. Using the newly launched AFTD Facebook page, Rob reached out to the wider veteran community and quickly grew a following who all pledged £5 to wear a t-shirt and give their support. This 2022 fundraiser raised £405 for the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal.

Now, with this dedicated website, expanded volunteer staff and a much broader and targeted social media presence, Armed Forces T-Shirt Day is ready to step up another level. In 2024 we hope to raise even more money in support of the Scotty's Little Soldiers charity for bereaved military children.

2023 £1568 Raised!

2022 saw the first partnership between Armed Forces T-Shirt Day and a chosen charity. In this year AFTD campaigned to raise funds for the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal.

The Royal British Legion helps members of the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, veterans and their families. They support serving and ex-serving personnel all year round, every day of the week. Their support starts after one day of service and continues through life, long after service is over.
